What should ltr include when asking for donations from golf clubs/resorts as giveaways to our charity golf out

I’m with a national community service club who hosts a charity golf outing for our local club. All our fundraising returns to our community, generally to our children and handicap adults programs we sponsor. Golf attendance has been way down due to the competing golf outings for other really great causes. I’m requesting prizes from golf courses/resorts in Michigan for donations to entice golfers to join our great outing. The ltrs I’ve received state that “due to the great amount of requests”, so some groups are getting these great giveaways. Is there a sure-fire method of fundraising success. This is my first year on the golf committe, so I’m trying to make a difference.

first know exactly what the funds go for and tell them when you call/contact them, also give them suggestions of what they may contribute, tell them how successiful it was in past years. Hope this helps

What’s the best resort that has decent quality Golf & SCUBA diving?

I know this is asking a lot but I would prefer that the resort be in or near the Carribean, Virgin Islands, (E.) Mexico, etc. I would prefer an all-inclusive resort (extra $ for golf & SCUBA is ok but it should be at or near the resort). I am looking for a large group vacation (20-40 people), 1/2 are avid golfers and 1/2 are divers, so both activities should be average quality or better. THANKS

although Ive never been Ive been told the myrtle beach area is spendid for a golfing vacation, the san diego area generally has good golfing weather(and other attractions) year round and a number of great golf courses ( I take two weeks off every year to play there since moving away), also Ive read in the major golf magazines and periodicals (golf today ,golf, golf digest , etc.)where there are great deals to go to europe and play a number of courses in a one week stay…

wheres a good place in arizona for a golf vacation?

One that’s usually not well known, but definitely a true
“diamond in the rough” is the Gold Canyon Ranch golf resort located in Apache Junction. Two top notch 18 hole courses with one being a tougher desert type layout and the other a little easier more traditional one. Superb views of the nearby Superstition mountains, clean air and many lodging accommodations from basic motel type rooms to moderately priced casitas. There’s an excellent reataurant as well as a sports bar type grill. All the other expected amentiies (pool, jacuzzi etc.). Save a few bucks from the more expensive courses in Scottsdale and it’s only a 25-30 minute drive from Sky Harbor airport. I’d very highly recommend.
