Which golf tournament has Tiger Woods won in Africa?
It’s been reported that with his Australian Masters victory Tiger has won golf tournaments on all continents. I can’t find which tournament he won in Africa and would welcome the answer!!
To be technical, the President’s Cup in ‘03 was a draw I.E. neither team actually won. The U.S. retained the cup from the previous President’s Cup match they won. He won some matches in that President’s Cup, but hasn’t actually won a stroke play tournament on the continent of Africa.
Is it okay to play best ball golf when you’re not actually in a Texas Scramble tournament?
I’m going golfing with my hubby tomorrow. We used to go a handful of times a year (started about 6 years ago) but then I was pregant & it’s tough to get a sitter for a newborn early on a Sunday morning… so we never played for the past few years.
I’ve been 2x this year. I love it! I forgot how fun it was!! We were never GOOD (I only drive like 100-140 yds so we play the local par 3 courses mostly – usually 9-holes and we score like 45-50 with a 10-second rule in play and a couple mutually agreed upon do-overs when we both mess up I like the walk & being outdoors & the challenge of pulling the right club & then actually having a decent shot with it. I like the practice. In several years time maybe we WILL be better at it. We’re thinking we should both go take a lesson or two.
My question: if it’s just the 2 of us, playing for fun & we both agree, could we play a best ball game or is that weird? Would it be strange seeing 2 beginners playing best ball on a course?

Pine Valley is the ‘consensus’ best course in the world – that is, when they rank the best courses in the world, Pine Valley almost always finishes #1.
Its so exclusive they don’t have tournaments there and turn away even PGA players!
As for the best golf tournament – I have to say the US Open because it attracts a better field than the Masters or British Open. The PGA Championship has the second best field of the four majors but isn’t as prestigious as the US Open.

Why is there a half hour between golf channel and cbs coverage for golf tournaments?
Contractual limitations. CBS owns the prime time rights to hte tournament and allows The Golf Channel to purchase rights to the earlier action and to show the replays later in the day. There are similar arrangements with the other networks for most every tournament. The majors are slightly different since virtually every shot is shown for them.
Is there any major golf tournament that reads all of your major victories before you tee off?
I was watching the pga championship and they just announced the years Tiger won that tournament. Is there any tournament where they announce all the major victories?
I was invited by one of my customers to a golf tournament in couple of weeks as one of the four players. I accepted and am very excited to go! I talked to my boss and he wants me to pick up the tab for everything. How do I offer to pay? I know which country club it is but I don’t know who is putting on the tournament.
I’m unsure of the correct etiqutte because I was invited by him. If I had invited him it would be easy.
Should I say something now or on the day of the tournament?
Golf outings are a great way for groups to raise money. There’s a good chance that your customer is putting together a foursome of people similar to you who he/she wants to get to know a little better and have a good time with. Call him/her up and tell him/her that when you spoke with your boss about the outing, your boss offered to sponsor your foursome. Your customer will probably be impressed that your boss is interested enough in him/her to sponsor the day, and it will help build your business relationship.
Of course, your client might already be looking to do the same thing. Perhaps if your client wants to pay for the foursome, you could get some information about the outing and there is something else your boss could sponsor: hole sponsorships, beer cart, all sorts of options. Golf outings are a lot of fun; don’t be discouraged if your client wants to pay.
