I want to test clubs and driver at golf smith or golf mart. Do I have to buy the equipment from there for them to check my swing speed, what shaft, stuff like that. Or do they charge a fee to test. Approx
how much will it cost . If any one had a personal experience and how did it go.any one got clubs custom fit some where else please
share the experience and how much it improved there game
In the practice area at Golfsmith, they have a rack with a flurry of makes and models so that you can grab a club and take a few swings with it to see how it feels.
If you want to know your swing speed, shaft recommendation, etc., then you’ll need to make and appointment with Golftec (they are usually found inside the Golfsmith store and are their own business) for a club fitting. This is where this is done. They do club fittings for irons, drivers, and I believe wedges as well. The session cost me $50 but I believe it’s gone up in price now to $100.
They will measure all of that information and allow you to try a handful of different models and manufacturers and measure the results of each.
After the session, you’ll have a printout showing the results and they will also give you a recommendation as to which club model/manufacturer is going to help your game the most.
I had a fitting for irons at Golftec in February and the result was the Cobra S9II irons. I needed to have the lie angle adjusted by a half degree.
I ended up purchasing them directly from the manufacturer and I’ve been really happy with the results thus far this season.
Which golf tournament has Tiger Woods won in Africa?
It’s been reported that with his Australian Masters victory Tiger has won golf tournaments on all continents. I can’t find which tournament he won in Africa and would welcome the answer!!
To be technical, the President’s Cup in ‘03 was a draw I.E. neither team actually won. The U.S. retained the cup from the previous President’s Cup match they won. He won some matches in that President’s Cup, but hasn’t actually won a stroke play tournament on the continent of Africa.

Tiger Woods ‘had surgery after wife’s 9-iron attack’ (Will Elin be charged with Domestic Violence?)?
NEW YORK – Tiger Woods’ wife whacked him with a golf club after learning that he was cheating on her.
According to Us magazine, sources revealed that Elin Nordegren was told by a friend her husband was having an affair
She apparently then roused Woods from an Ambien-enhanced sleep by whacking him with a golf club.
At that point, he ran out of the home barefoot and tried to drive away,” the New York Daily News quoted the source as saying.
Woods’ string of affairs came into light on Thanksgiving night after he totalled his SUV outside his Florida mansion under mysterious circumstances. (ANI)
I just don’t understand the mentality of these women.
He paid for her! he bought her like O.J. Simpson bought Nicole Brown. and has every right to do with his toys as he see’s fit.
The gall of this woman astounds me.
Didn’t she know she was a status symbol or furniture?
Tiger understood that, why didn’t she… ppth some people.
How much torque (N m) does a golf swing put on the average person/Tiger’s knee? What can I compare this to?
As is obvious to anyone who has seen Tiger swing a club, he puts a tremendous amount of torque on the knee he is getting surgery on. I am wondering if there are exact measurements as to how much torque people, particularly Tiger, put on their knee during a golf swing. As I am relatively unfamiliar with physics, I would also appreciate a comparison of that measurement to something understandable.
Here it is in simple terms.
Torque = Force X lever.
The lever is the distance from the center of curvature of the swing.
Force= mass X acceleration
Mass is the wt of the club, his arms and the ball itself when he hits it.
Acceleration if from the equation
accel=w^2(r)
Here is how you find the r. Find the point where half of the mass of the swing is further out, and half is closer to the center. That is the r part of the acceleration.
Now let me get in to the w. Just at there are 360 degrees in a complete circle. There is 2*pi radians in a complete circle. Approx 6.28 radians in a complete circle.
w=radians/second
Try to find out how much time it takes to complete the swing and how much of a complete circle it takes. Take the percentage of a complete circle, multiply it y 2 * pi and then divide it by the amount of time it takes to complete that swing. That would be w. Take the w to the second poser, this is w^2.
How do they decide what score the cut is in the open, golf that is?
The score to make it to the next round, the cut, in the golf open championship is constantly changing, how do they decide what score you need to achieve to make the cut?
The cut line is usually the top 60 and ties. Sometimes they keep players within 10 shots of the leader.
