I’ve never golfed before, would I be ok just setting up a tee time and giving it a shot?
My apartment complex has a golf course that I can go play golf at really cheap. I’ve never played before (unless you count wii golf) so I’m worried if I just show up and start hitting balls around I’m going to break a bunch of rules and make all the other players mad. I was thinking about going when it wasn’t busy then I just need to hit the balls into the hole right?

I did say I was going to go when I knew it wasn’t busy. And it’s just the golf course in my apartment complex, not Pebble Beach.
HECK YEA!! i don’t think anything is wrong with going and trying something new. if you wear argyle socks and capris pants you will probably do better….if you are worried about golf snobs getting pissed at you, mini golf is a fun alternative. especially the courses with a storybook theme…you should still wear the socks and pants but add a nice hat and probably a flask or two. leave the golf buggy at home for this adventure though.

Where is the best place to find information on local Dallas amateur golf tournaments? (Scrambles, 4-balls,etc)?
I’ve looked all over the internet and can not find any site that lists local golf tournaments in North Texas. I’m not looking for PGA or Amateur events. I’m looking for the scrambles and 4-balls that are played at local courses around this part of the state.
Try the I-tour, It is a Individual Golf Tournament around the metroplex that is available for anybody and its very competitive, plus you win money. Jus get an handicap and proof from someone and your in. Its expensive to enter and a fee every tournament you play but it helps get you an average and it compares your skills to others before steppin into the Amateur or Nationwide Tours,… because thats extremely expensive and might require a sponsor. http://www.dallasitour.com/…Hope that helps?

Is it better to arrange golf tee times before going to Myrtle Beach or can you find discounts after arriving.?
Just wondering if it is better to make tee times ahead of time or if it owuld be cheaper to find discount coupons after getting to Myrtle Beach
You are much better off locking in your tee times before you arrive. If you are looking for bargains, try to call after your morning round and see what some of the courses you would like to play are offering for the afternoon. You can sign up at clikitgolf or lastminutegolfer for coupons for the Myrtle area.
But, if you want to do a replay of the course you played in the morning, they will usually just charge 20$ or so per person. This works out great if the course has 2 or 3 different layouts, you can run a foursome around three different courses in a single day if it isn’t too crowded.

Im in the golf website business offering online tee-time. What can i include as tax deduction?
Part of the website also is for golf organizations such as clubs to manage their memberships, events and communicate with them through emails. Now for me to understand how this works, i gotta do some research and understand how clubs work. that costs money to join and also to join their tournaments, there’s also entry fees. This could also involved traveling to different parts of the countries to understand how different regions work.
What expenses can I deduct? membership fees? tourney fees? travel fees?
You can probably deduct more than you think you can. Set up a meeting with your accountant.

Does golf.com’s system establish an official USGA Handicap index?
I want to start playing in some tournaments and need a handicap.
Yes it does , just fill out the required info and enter your last twenty rounds and you will have a official USGA Handicap you can print up your first card right away after you establish your handicap , then it is updated monthly .

Any good ideas for decorating a golf themed cake? HELP!!!!?
I have a golf cart, trees, and nine holes to decorate with. Would like it to be humorous. Any ideas? Please help!
Look for ideas on Wilton.com. Here’s my suggestion.
Make a 9×13 sheet cake. Ice it green, but add some blue for water and some sandy color for a sand pit. Use the golf cart, or a golf guy on the cake.
If you want it to be humerous, make the cake like the golfer shot the ball into the water or sandpit.
