Cruising on Carnival Holiday. How much do onboard activities cost (if anything)?
I’m taking my girlfriend on a cruise for our anniversary. I know drinks are pretty expensive and food is free. I’ve also looked at prices for various excursions. However, I can’t seem to find any info on what (if anything) the activities/services cost on-board the Holiday. Specifically, I’m talking about dance lessons (free?), massages (probably expensive) book check-out at the library (free?), shows, and games (like shuffleboard, basketball, mini-golf and video games). It shouldn’t be that hard to find this info but I’m coming up blank everywhere I look. Thanks for any help you can give me!
Use a cash account if you want to manage to a budget while on a cruise. You put down a cash instead of a credit card for your on-board account. Notable…Carnival charges your account for the tips ($10 per day per guest) to your on-board account the moment you step on-board, so if you use a cash account, be sure to deposit enough cash to cover your tips ($70×2=$140 plus whatever your on-board spending budget is).
The shows and other musical entertainment is included in the price of the fare along with access to the gym. However, some of the classes have a $10 fee. Access to the sport equipment is also included in your fare.
Carnival has a drink of the day special. Drinks run from about $4-12 each plus a 15% gratuity.
Sodas are $1.75 plus 15% gratuity per can or you can purchase the soda fountain card for $38.50 plus 15% gratuity for unlimited by the glass soda (Coke products).
Most of the Carnival ships now allow you to view your tab view the TV in your room. If the Pride does not offer this, you can drop by the purser’s office and get a quick print-out.
You pay a premimum for booking shore excursions through Carnival but you get the insurance that if your excursion is running late, they will hold the ship for you. If you book on your own, your on your own while in port.
Be sure to take along a good supply of $1, 5 and 10 in US dollars to use in port for taxis, shopping and tips to the local guides.
You will get a newletter each day in your cabin describing the next day’s events. There will be more going on the ship than you can do…don’t try to overdo…pick the things you really like and stick to those.
To help you budget…here are a few of the “extra costs”-
- Bar drinks – $4-12 each plus 15% gratuity
- Soda – by the can – $1.75 plus 15% gratuity
- Soda fountain card – $38.50 plus 15% gratuity
- Photos – $7.99 to $21.99 (depending on size and style)
- Shore excursions – $50-200 per person per excursion.
- Spa treatments – $50-200 per treatment (but there were many specials on this last trip as many people were skipping the spa…)
- Casino. Use cash in the casino to avoid 3% fee for using card.
- Video arcade – $1 per game/tokens.
- Bingo cards – $5-20…depending on day and games
- Goument coffee – $3.75 and up
- Internet – 75 cents per minute
- Ship to shore phone – $7.99 per minute
- Parking at the port
- Tips for luggage porters – $1 per bag
- Tips – $10 per day per guest
With the exception of tips and parking at the cruise terminal, all of the above is optional. My sister spent less than $400 on our last cruise….

Where can I find touch up paint for my Titleist 905 R Driver? The top part of the club.?
I have tried to order the exact match paint for this club from MyOstrich.com, but they could not produce the paint I needed and I also tried to go straight to the manufacturer of the correct paint, Golf Paint Inc. and there website does not allow me to order via the internet. This problem has been going on for the last two weeks. I can select the paint and add to my cart, but when I try to proceed it gives me an error page from there webmaster. Anyway, does anyone know a good paint or combination of the right paints to touch up my Titleist 905 R Driver. I know that some car touch up paint works, but I need the right colors to match the top part of my Driver. Please help, thank you.
a custom paint shop could duplicate it . the cost would be ridicolous . tosand and buff head , titanium very expensive also . there are two easy ways . the cheapest wold be a clear coat , touch up paint , you would see the marks , this way will protect the clubhead from flaking . the second choice would be powder coating the whole head . this would require removal of the head , and reassembly . this option would give the oppurtunity to change colour if desired . cost 40 dollars . minimum . ithink just the clear coat would be best option . thank you

I’ve been curious to try Natural Golf just because of the fact it claims to give weekend golfers more consistency. Does anyone know if you can get this videos online anywhere? I don’t feel like paying for something that will more than likely be nothing more than an experiment.

It is basically like any cable or satellite tv you pay for. Fortunately, the best thing about having the internet is most television you watch online is free. Here is a short ( and I mean really short) list of channels you can view online.
You have your news channels like: ABC, CBN News, CNN, Fox channel 5, Fox channel 11, Fox News, NBC Weather Plus, NBC News and many more news channels.
You also have your business channels like: Bloomberg tv US, Bloomberg tv UK, NASDAQ stock market.
Don’t forget you also have free tv channels online for the kids like: Cartoon network, Disney web and the discovery channel
There are so many sports channels like: ESPN, ESPN Racing, The golf channel, Online racing tv.
You also have adult television you can watch for free online. These movies can be watched anytime and in private.
You also have many movies you are able to access online. There are so many I can’t even begin to name them.
As long as you have the internet you are able to watch free tv channels online on your computer. You just chose a show that you want to watch and watch it through your media player. Most computers come with a media player already installed but if yours happens to not have one you are going to need to download one. You want to make sure you have the most updated version for your computer. This way you can watch your tv program and get the best quality sound and picture.
Entertainment for you and your family can get expensive and having the alternative to going to your computer and downloading a movie and popping popcorn can save you a bundle. It is nice to have free tv channels online to watch. There are many websites you can go under to view any television show and any episode you missed or just want to see again. Whether you want to relive your younger days or watch a show you have missed that you may have been waiting all day to watch you can now do it all online for free. Most websites are free bur there are some that have a mixture for free shows and some you may have to pay for. Either way you go it is less than going out or having to pay extra for cable.

I have a big family and know what expenses go into making ends meet these days. They say TV is a luxury and not a necessity but its tough being out of touch with the rest of the world. I just don’t like getting $100- $140 cable bills when its hard enough to just keep the electric turned on.
