Do you have any clever quotes? Here are a few….?
Nowadays, if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it probably isn’t a duck at all, but only something someone wants you to believe is a duck. Maybe, that’s why they’re called decoys.
–Christopher Toussaint —
It is impossible to defeat an ignornant man in an argument.
–William G. McAdoo–
Some people know how to live everyone else’s life, but their own.

I’ve had a perfectly wonderful evening, but this wasn’t it.

The human race has one really effective weapon, and that is laughter.

Golf Naked – The Bare Essentials, by Greg Rowley

Which school has won the most NCAA championships so far this year?
I don’t mean all-time. I mean the calendar year of 2009. I have Texas A&M at 3 (men’s golf, men’s and women’s outdoor track and field.)
Strangely enough. It is used to be a football only school (besides academically, of course.) Now, football seems to be its weakest sport.
Yes, bbuentel, this is the football section. And we are talking about what I described as a “football school.” But I haven’t seen an answer in the “answer” section.
Well, Bevo, as I said, football seems to be A&M’s weakest sport now. Maybe the Big 12 isn’t big enough for all those football powerhouse, so they decided to go small. ![]()
Anyways, they just lost to Arkansas 47-19 two weeks ago, and getting whipped by Arkansas and the Longhorns in the same year would be absolutely nightmarish. I can see the ghosts of the SWC past turing in their graves.
A&M won in golf? Winning in T&F is damn good, but winning in golf is damn impressive. I don’t have an answer to your question. I just wanted to give kudos to one of the Longhorns most hated rivals. Congrats to A&M for their accomplishments.
But we’re gonna whip their asses on Thanksgiving Day.

Some of the best and most memorable sports games in the past few years??
My choices are….
Kentucky vs Michigan State in the Elite Eight of 2005. Back and forth and Sparks hit the tying 3 at the buzzer to send it into overtime. UK lost in double OT.
New York Jets vs Pittsburgh Steelers AFC divisional playoffs. Jets kicker #6 missed a field goal with a few seconds to go in the 4th that could have sealed it, then missed another in overtime that could have sealed it. Exciting game!
Houston Astros vs…I dont remember lol. It was like 18 innings and it was the playoffs. Clemens still pitched for them also. It was great!
USC vc Notre Dame when Reggie pushed Leinart in the end zone, (may have been Leinart pushing Bush I cant remember)
USC vs Texas (National Title) This game was great! Reggie should have never lateraled running down the field. Trojans would win this one easily if played again in my opinion.
What are some of your best and favorite games? Dont include sports like Hockey, or Tennis/golf matches.
VINCE ruining the trojan hoopla. hay smartguy, remember texas had some bad breaks that game too. {{{drew kelson’s int. of the pass intended for bush, that was ruled an incomplete pass}}}…..remember all SC had to do to win was get a first down {{like 2:00 mins left or whatever, they handed off to white and he got stuffed}}….TEXAS trailed the whole 3rd quarter it seemed, but came back and found a way to win. THATS WHAT GREAT TEAMS DO. espn ran that comparison all week leading up to the game and voters declared that years USC the greatest of all time, then TEXAS went into sc’s backyard and won. had the game been played in austin or even dallas, the final score wouldnt have been so close…..

San Diego Golf Academy?
Has anyone attended the SDGA? How was it? How were the classes? Is it worth the almost $30,000 for an associates degree? Good instructors? Did you find a good paying job after the class? How were the living conditions? The people? Do the credits transfer to a four year college if neccisary?? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I have NOT attended SDGA, but………….
I have worked in the golf industry for 15 or so years in 4 different states.
I am not here to deter you from attending the school. If money is not an issue and it is something you want to do (I here it is very fun) then I would say by all means that you should go. It will definitely help you in the future. But of all the GM’s and head pro’s that I have worked around (shop staff included) very few went to an academy.
If working in the golf industry is a goal of yours I would recommend that you just start doing it. If your good enough to get your PGA card (the PAT is a breeze for good players) then you can do all the studying on your own at a fraction of the cost and time.
So, is money is an issue??? Then skip it. If you are young, got the time and money then I would definitely say do it (but you will still have to pass the PAT and do all the studying anyway).
Good Luck!!!
