golf for women beginners
What are better beginner’s golf clubs for women: Slazenger Lady Panther, Dunlop DDH Alero or Top Flite XL?

These are the only available beginner’s sets in the Philippines. In any case, I’d just like to know which model or even brand for that matter between the 3 is more reliable. Also consider that the Top Flite XL set does not have a SW.

The Slazengers are very reliable clubs, the Top Flites are about as good as Wal-Mart Brands, plus you need a SW. Dunlops are ok, but go with the Slazengers, they are more forgiving.

Try hitting all three before you buy them.

Women’s Golf for Beginners?

Hi, I need to know why my feet hurt when I play golf with tennis shoes…and why does my hand hurt like its going to blister? And no, I don’t have gloves.

Because if you are walking on a golf course, you are walking 4-5 miles at a “whack”. Your shoes need to fit correctly or you are going to get blisters. It’s totally different from just walking about in your “day to day” life. As you get more used to the walking, especially up and down hills, your feet should become more accustomed to the “wear and tear”. As to hurting hands, you may be gripping too tightly on your club or have a “grip” flaw where you are letting loose of the club a bit as you swing. Especially as a beginner, you are hitting or swing the club more times than the average. You can be wearing your skin a little where you grip the club. This too should change over time but a glove (on either hand or both) can help.

Cheap golf vacation package to Hilton Head, South Carolina?

I go to Hilton Head with my family 4 times a year — April, July, October and December. (we have a house down there). My dad usually goes down in August or September for a “boys week” with his brothers and they play golf. He said the prices go down in september. As to where we played Sea Pines Ocean Course in April and it was like $175 each — he said its a lot less expensive than that.. but still expensive for some people. Hilton Head is not a cheap place to live or vacation.. depending on where you go. I know there are some nice inexpensive hotels in the Forest Beach and Coligny Square area. Depending on how many people are going… it might be cheaper to rent a condo or small house. Just google golf courses in Hilton Head — read about some of them and then call and they will be able to tell you about how much it will be for when your planning on coming. Its hard to say since you didn’t mention what months or anything. I have a cousin who owns a golf management company down there and he runs 4 different courses — so if I knew the months, I could give you an average per course. Anyway, I hope they enjoy the trip!!

Are there any golf packages or deals in myrtle beach without having to stay in a resort?

It depends on what you mean by a resort- I have stayed at Holiday Inn express, Comfort Inn, and privately owned on-course condos and it was set up as a package. They weren’t what I would call resorts, but I guess that’s a matter of semantics.

If you have housing already sey up, you can try to call around when you are ready to play and see if there are any openings, but that is pretty hit and miss. Try Last Minute Golfer and clikitgolf websites for coupons and deals.

99% of the courses are tied into the package companies, but because of the economy are takng a more pragmatic viewpoint- “a tee time unused is revenue lost forever”.

what to do in myrtle beach besides golf?

Going to Myrtle beach, SC. In the end of March, and its not for spring break. Just a little side trip from our Columbia, SC vacation. Anything intresting besides golf to do? Been there before but its been so long.

Broadway on the beach is a fun little shopping area. There’s also a Ripley’s Aquarium there. Definitely check out the boardwalk area. That’s always fun. Then there are your standard movies, mini-golf, shows, shopping, and lots of good eats. Have fun.
