I recently picked up some type of magazine in a golf clubhouse and it included a great article on the new Black Bear Audubon Golf Course near Delhi, Louisiana. Can anybody identify that magazine so I can try to get a copy of that article?
Is Augusta really as bad a city as Golf Magazine says?
“UNLIKE THE MASTERS, Augusta is largely low rent, a bargain-basement mosaic of strip malls, strip joints and unassuming houses — all surrounding the world’s most exclusive club. One attracts galleries and the globe’s best golfers. The other attracts gawkers on the lookout for a topless table dance. But despite being worlds apart, it’s still a short walk from Amen Corner to a Bud Light and beef jerky at the corner store.”
I live in Augusta. No, the writer is totally wrong. All cities have bad parts of town, and it seems as if this writer went only to those places. Our Mayor Deke Copenhaver is deeply offended by these comments and he has made a statement about it in our daily newspaper that you can read on line.
I have subscriptions to quite a few magazines for my various hobbies and interests (my wife is already not too pleased that I am shopping for another magazine subscription.) I recently started getting back into golf. Of all the golf specific magazines, (Golf, Golf Digest, Links, etc.) which is your favorite? If you had one magazine choice, which would you subscribe to? Thanks!
I presently subscribe to Golf Digest which was a switch over from Golf Magazine.. The reason was a great reduced price. The latest Golf Magazine offer looks inviting so I may re switch. When you are in your mid 80s( age wise ) one is too old to learn new stuff or the muscles have lost their retention value. Go with which ever offers the best price deal unless you favor specific authors. Find a copy of each and settle on the one which suits you best.
How did Earl Woods meet Thailand woman during tour on Vietnam?
During Vietnam war, I am guessing that Vietnam isn’t what we consider a hot tourist destination for Thailand citizens. From what I read from Golf Digest magazine few years ago, Earl Woods met his wife during on a tour of Vietnam war. My question is why and what was young Thai woman doing in Vietnam during war?
I grew up near Fort Lewis (WA), and heard some disturbing stories regarding Asian women married to American servicemen during 60’s-70’s.
