I need a very dense, tall fast growing hedge to stop golf balls from coming into my yard…?
I have a home in Northeast Florida on the backside of a golf practice range and am having a problem with golf balls continually flying into my yard, some at fast speeds that I fear could hurt somone. I’d like to plant a dense tall hedge instead of asking the golf club to put up an ugly fence. Any ideas about plants that would slow down a fast moving golf ball and grow well in a coastal north Florida, shady environmenst?
Get the golf range to put up containment nets so you don’t get hurt. Then grow whatever you’d like to screen the nets.
is there a web page that shows the diferent swings and proper mechanics in the form of video clips?
im just lerning the game and thus far im self taught ,i can chip fairly well ,but have some probs to iron out with other swings ( forgive the unintended pun) i watch golf tournements but they realy don’t give the best veiw of the swing ,tending to zoom in on the club head and ball
I have an account at mygolfdomain.com. It is kind of like myspace, but for golfers. You can upload videos and have others on the site critique your swing and identify your swing flaws. It is pretty neat. Also look on youtube, just search for golf videos, etc.
Your best bet would be to start visiting a golf pro. He can video your swing too. Then he can burn your lesson on a dvd and you can view it again and again at home.
Golf Swing Mechanics : How to Stand When Hitting a Golf Ball
Where can I find all the basics I need to know about a good golf swing?
I’m going golfing for the first time in a couple of years and didn’t want to make a fool out of myself. A pictured diagram of foot placement, grip and the actual swing would be perfect.
LOL @ the answer above! One of my all time favorite books on the fundamentals of the swing is David Leadbetter’s original book “The Golf Swing”. Basic, easy to understand.
Another suggestion is to go out to a local lake or pond and skip a few flat rocks across the surface. Pay attention and feel the motion. Replicate it in your golf swing when you play and you’ll be ahead of the curve.
Best video capture for golf? Reasonable price for quality slow-motion?
What is the best camcorder for scrutinizing your golf swing?
In other words, with the most frames-per-second.
I’m not looking to spend more than $100-200.
Thanks!
For the price you are suggesting you can buy any in that range and they will be fine. You might check around with your friends and see if someone has a camera you can borrow to try out.
I have a 7 year old sony with a cassette tape and it works fine. If you can set up your computer to capture your video here’s a great program that is cheap $40.00 to compare your swing with other players and pros. V1 Golf Academy. http://www.v1golfacademy.com/
i’m 22 yrs old, and want to make golf a new hobby. I’ve been hitting at the driving range every now and then using my dads clubs. I use to work at a golf course, so i’m ok on my stances, but is there anything you all would recommend me doing since im a beginner? I don’t even have clubs. I was thinking of just going to Wal Mart to pick up some Wilsons or Top Flite or something pretty cheap, and maybe a better driver from a golf store. How does that sound? Are there any other things you guys can recommend for me? Thanks!!!
also…am i too OLD to start, or can i actually be ok at golf if i work hard enough???
the very first thing you should do is take a golf lesson maybe 2 just to get u started . the reason for this is to keep u from developing bad habits then go from there this is really good advice , i wish someone had given it to me good luck
