Are there any golf courses in Muskegon Michigan that hire 14 year old golf caddies?
I’m looking for a summer job, and I heard that being a golf caddy is a good paying job. I know that some golf courses hire 14 year olds for caddies. I need some in Muskegon. Thanks!!
To be honest, I think 14 might be just a bit too young for caddying. Bags can be heavy, courses can be long, and golfers often rely on their caddies to know every detail about a course. Be ready to prove to the higher-ups at the course that you’re mature and committed to providing a high-quality experience to their customers.
Another option that might be better for right now but still involved with golf is working in the cart barn. At the courses I’ve worked for, “cart kids” bring carts out in the morning, receive them from golfers at the end of their rounds, clean them inside and out, refuel if necessary, and direct new golfers to the proper carts. At the end of the day, carts are cleaned, fueled, and parked back in the barn. You still get the perks of being an employee (usually free golf, discounted food & beverage from the snack bar, pay is at or around minimum unfortunately).
I need a super great golf coach that can analyze my swing on video. I’ve been to 3 so far and the video equipment has been weak and so have the “coaches”. I am willing to travel as I have the summers off…any coach suggestions?
I think you’ll do well at the site posted below, looks like everything you are looking for.
I understand the process of the handicap when playing others which mine is a 20. I know that I must enter every round I play to be fair. My question is when I enter my scores do I deduct my handicap from my total score and enter it. Or, do I enter my actual score. Example: Say I shoot an actual 94 but with my handicap it drops it down to a 76. Would I enter 76 in to the system?
The answer to your question is NO!
No one mentioned “course handicap”. That is the first thing you must figure out. There is a calculator on the ghin site. There is probably a chart at the pro shop or you can look on the terminal where your scores at the golf course. Or you can do it the old fashioned way.
Handicap index (example 19.5) mulitplied by the slope rating (example 122, found on score card) and divided by 113 <--- that number is constant. = 21.05 = course handicap of 21.
Then use equitable score control to adjust the score.
Course handicap ------------------- maxium score per hole
0-9 ---------- Double Bogey
10-19 ---------- 7
20-29 ---------- 8
30-39 ---------- 9
40 or more ---------- 10
So if your course handicap is 21 and you shot 95 with a quadruple bogey on one of the par 5's, you have to subtract a stroke and only take an 8 on the hole. The same with the other holes.
Then post your score.
