I am not a golfer but my fiance is and he mentioned wanting lamkin golf grips for his clubs and I’m not sure what I’m buying. I don’t want to ask him because it will ruin one of his Christmas gifts. Help me out. What exactly do I need to look for? He was Ping Clubs if that helps!
If your fiance is mentioning Lamkin grips it is more than likely in reference to their new dual density torsion control grip which comes in a variety of sizes and colours. Lamkin’s standard grip the Crossline wouldn’t be the talk of the town although it is a pretty decent standard grip. Most golf enthusiasts are switching to the new multi layer or dual density grips that offer more feel. The Ping clubs you mention will require a .600″ grip size and you can expect to pay approx. $7.50 per grip installed. Why not get a gift certificate from a golf retailer that can do the job and treat your fiance to a great new set of grips custom installed? Good luck and what a lucky guy he is.
You can ask people in the message board at My Golf Domain.com at http://www.mygolfdomain.com/forums. There are some very friendly people there that really know golf.
Wyncote Golf Club Review – 7148 Yards – 74.0 rating/ 140 slope – bent grass
I want to learn how to golf and I already bought a set from a garage sale that is crummy so I want to buy a new set. What would be the best set to buy for a beginner looking to spend around 300 dollars and were would I buy it.
I’d rather pay a little more then 200dollars and get a set that isn’t “crap” . Because if its a set that is that junky I’d just stick with my garage sale ones
You know what? As long as the grips are all right stick with the ones you got for the first year. You know what the average handicap was 40 years ago? 17. You know what the average hanciap is now? 17. So dispite all the technology it hasn’t really made any real difference. Don’t be sucked in by the promise of new clubs will hit it straighter and further, you still need a swing and ability to score well. It would be cheaper and wiser to spend the money on lessons. They will do more for you than new clubs.

AUCTION SELLS GOLF CLUBS BIG SALE NAME BRANDS ON LOUGHEED HWY.wmv
what is the best website for buying golf club sets for cheap?
Ebay, for sure. Just make sure you buy from a reputable seller that has pretty close to 100% feedback, so you know he’s legit.
However, check out pga.com before hand. You can click on the equipment tab and scroll down to value guide. This will give you trade in and retail value for clubs. You definitely won’t pay trade in value however shouldn’t pay over retail value.
Im looking for a store or website where i can pick the golf components i want, and they’ll put it together.
Ive seen golfworks.com but they dont have a wide variety of hybrid clubs or clubs in general for a lefty. Lefty friendly places please!
Any golf clubmaker will able to build a club with your chosen components. Just search for
Golf Clubmaker in (your area) on google. Or you can search on ebay.
What is a driving iron in golf? Is it equivalent to one of the longer irons in a standard set?
I’ve seen a “driving iron” for sale and was wondering what it is exactly (I’m new to golf and have been playing about 6 months). Is it equivalent to a hybrid iron that replaces one of the 3 or 4 irons for example?
A driving iron is not about anything. they have a 12 degree loft. there the same length as a 2 iron. there for people who dont hit with woods very well and hit irons great. i have one i use for certain corses that are very tight. there great.
Are Adams Tight Lies good starting clubs for a beginner?
I’ve just become interested in golfing and have played about 5 times with rented clubs. I’ve also gone to the driving range multiple times with 2 clubs that I own, and taken a lesson. I’m interested in buying a set of clubs and was wondering if anyone had suggestions?
There is a set of Adams Tight Lies on sale on Ebay right now. ( The highest bid so far is 66 dollars plus 30 dollars shipping – http://cgi.ebay.com/ADAMS-TIGHT-LIES-MENS-15-PC-RIGHT-HANDED-GOLF-CLUB-SET_W0QQitemZ270155482668QQihZ017QQcategoryZ115280QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Would this be a good set to bid on? There’s no driver but I’ve heard that beginners shouldn’t use a driver anyway. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I’d say for a beginning golfer, these clubs are great. If you can get an almost full set of clubs for what the bid is now, you are doing pretty well. Definitely continue taking lessons, they will make you much better much quicker than playing without instruction. Once that handicap starts dropping I would suggest upgrading your clubs, and make sure when you buy them you get them custom fit. It usually doesn’t take too long, the custom fitting is often included in the price of new clubs, and it will make a dramatic difference in no time. Good luck with your game.
