Cheap club sets or wood sets?
I would like 2 play golf and I always played baseball in the summer so I’ve never really played before. I’d like to get to the point where I can play a course and not embarass myself 2 bad lol. My dad has an old set of Ping clubs. They were top of the line but that was 15-20 yrs ago. He has actual wood drivers thats how old lol. I would like to buy a whole new set if I could get a good price but I definitely need a new driver and 3 and 5 wood or whatever. So where can I get these? What websites? How about used? What brands are good, since Ping, Nike, Callaway, etc. are out of the question, most likely, how are the other lesser known cheaper brands…Ram, Adams, etc. I need men’s clubs not juniors. So I want to get cheap but decent golf clubs…I definitely need a new wood set but I think I need a whole new set. I see some on Ebay really cheap– $139-$179 Wilson Blackjack set. How is this? Dick’s sporting goods has cheap sets for like 179. How r they?

Try E bay for used clubs. What was good 5 years ago is still good today. And those Ping irons? Use them as they are good clubs.

I want a good driver.
I have only just started golf so only want to spend £30-40 at the moment on a driver.

honestly ive got good stuff on ebay. be careful and really look at what ur buying but ive got real good stuff from there. rockbottemgolf.com like the other guy said is very good most of the stuff ive got off ebay was from their ebay store and ive been very happy with them. they also have balls and pretty much anything golf u could want. but out of any shops i would say ur local pga pro shop at most golf courses or near driving ranges would have very low prices competitive to only prices.

Shipping golf clubs from USA to UK?
I am working in the US and need to ship my golf clubs back home to the UK when I leave in December (as I will be travelling on to Europe)
I understand that it will be cheaper to ship it than send it via air…. Does anybody know of any shipping companies that are reliable and not too expensive??

I would opt for air. But can to take them with you and when you get to Europe, have them shipped from there? It may be cheaper to pay for the extra weight on the flight.
I ran a price for UPS from the US to Leicester (I had that address laying about) . The price was $325. That’s pretty expensive.
(I used package size as 50×12x12 inches, weight 20 pounds, you pack yourself and duty rate at $200)

Where can I find good quality cheap golf clubs?
I am starting to play golf in high school, I love the game, and I am good at it, but golf clubs are really expensive. I want to find good quality golf clubs, but cheap. Give me links to webs site who have some good prices. Preferably if they could be in a whole set. This would be a huge help, best answer gets an easy TEN POINTS, thanks!
This is the absolute best thing you can do, hands down: Find a local golf club fitter/club maker before you even think about buying new clubs and get fit. In many cases, this will be your local PGA teaching pro. This is the most important thing to do when buying new clubs, and is also the most overlooked step. Properly fitted clubs will help you play your best and shoot lower scores. It is a huge mistake to just go to a store (or internet site) and buy a set of clubs off the shelf. They could be completely wrong for you and your swing. After you get fitted, a good club maker can build an entire set of clubs to YOUR exact specifications, using components that best suit your game. The club maker can determine several things based on your fitting, including what the correct lie angles for your clubs are, the proper length for you, whether you would be better suited to graphite or steel shafts, what type of irons, etc…This may sound expensive, but you can have a proper fitting done and get an entire new set of clubs for a fraction of the cost of buying a major manufacturer’s clubs, like Callaway, TaylorMade, Ping, and such. Some of the best clubs money can buy are designed by Ralph Maltby. He started The Golfworks, which is a great golf club component company. Their products are second to none in quality and playability. If there is a Golf Galaxy store near you, they could fit you and build you a new set of clubs using Golfworks components at a great price. Sure, you can probably find some clubs cheaper on Ebay or something, but do yourself a favor and take the time to get fitted. I promise you will play much better than if you didn’t. With properly fitted clubs, you will hit the ball more solidly, more accurately, more consistently, and you will also get more distance. There is not a professional golfer on any tour anywhere that did not have his or her clubs custom fit to them.
