Are Adams Tight Lies good starting clubs for a beginner?
I’ve just become interested in golfing and have played about 5 times with rented clubs. I’ve also gone to the driving range multiple times with 2 clubs that I own, and taken a lesson. I’m interested in buying a set of clubs and was wondering if anyone had suggestions?
There is a set of Adams Tight Lies on sale on Ebay right now. ( The highest bid so far is 66 dollars plus 30 dollars shipping – http://cgi.ebay.com/ADAMS-TIGHT-LIES-MENS-15-PC-RIGHT-HANDED-GOLF-CLUB-SET_W0QQitemZ270155482668QQihZ017QQcategoryZ115280QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Would this be a good set to bid on? There’s no driver but I’ve heard that beginners shouldn’t use a driver anyway. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I’d say for a beginning golfer, these clubs are great. If you can get an almost full set of clubs for what the bid is now, you are doing pretty well. Definitely continue taking lessons, they will make you much better much quicker than playing without instruction. Once that handicap starts dropping I would suggest upgrading your clubs, and make sure when you buy them you get them custom fit. It usually doesn’t take too long, the custom fitting is often included in the price of new clubs, and it will make a dramatic difference in no time. Good luck with your game.

For my set of clubs. I have an OK set of clubs that are great but my putter is an old heavey one that you use at a putt-putt centre. Its real heavy for a putter and I need a new one.
I dont want a brand new one as that is too much and I need to inprve my game HEAPS before I buy brand new things.
I am looking at buying a half decent putter at a garage sale. What do you think would be a good price for a half decent putter to buy.
And when I get around to selling my old club. Should I try to get 5 buks, or give it away to a charity or for free at the garage sale????
Thanks
I would buy a bramd new putter for $50 max.
how much you pay for a putter new or old is entirely your decision however I would suggest dont be in a hurry to buy. You will find as you play more golf your requirements will change. you can always go to a golf shop and try some on a practice green to give you a better idea about what suits you best

My sister is looking at buying a new ladies golf bag. She wants a good bag, but fairly cheap. Do you know anything about some good chic golf bags. Thanks
First, I must say, that golf is a sport in which equipment is what you pay for. So, cheap might seem appealing, but the equipment might not last long at all. I have found that Nike has made great bags, but can break the 100$ marker, very easily.
There are two types of bags, one being for a cart, and the other for carrying, which comes with a stand. It would be a very good idea to find out which one she would be using, and if you can’t, you would probably want to go with a carrying bag with a stand.
The ladies bag i know of that is good and sturdy, which will last long is the Nike Extreme sport bag. The cleveland bloom bag is good as well.
If you know she uses a cart a lot and wants a cart bag, the taylor made san marino bag is very good. Usuallu the brands like Ogio or RJ sports have many discounts, as well as callaway.
You can find good bargains just go to good stores, not big name stores that jack up prices. Try golfmart.
