What does it take to take your game of golf to the level of pro? How serious does one have to be to play golf?
I live in Michigan so I don’t exactly get to play golf all year long. I have recently tried getting instructions at an indoor golf dome in Okemos, near Lansing but I don’t know what else I should do to get my game in gear, or if I am a fool wishing for that lucky pot of gold. I realize that golf is an expensive game but what other steps could be taken to improve my game and how can someone appreciate the game of golf as they did as a kid if they play the sport competitively.
Depends on your definition of the word “pro”. A pro in the golfing world is simply a member of the PGA, which is not the same as the PGA Tour. A PGA member is simply a person whose profession involves golf, usually club pros/instructors. I believe requirements for the PGA are somewhere in the neighborhood of a +3 handicap, I am not sure of that exactly. The PGA Tour, however, is a completely different animal. The Tour is the competitive side of the PGA, just look at a leaderboard on a Sunday to see what kind of game you need to make it out there.

Has anyone played Estrella Mountain RANCH golf course outside of Phoenix?
I have a chance to play one round of golf and this place looks pretty nice, I have already played TPC, Troon North and Karsten plus some other courses are overseeding and shutdown so my choices are limited.
yes its a nice course but your right reseeding is the problem this time of year

Don’t you think Obama’s foreign policy shows a brave new America?
For longer than I can remember US foreign policy has been if their different fear them, I think it’s great that the US has a President who has enough confidence in his own country to open dialogue with countries that have been Ignored, feared, silenced for generations. In his first 100 days Obama has changed much of the worlds view of America for the better, in Bush’s first 100 days he tried to play golf!
Barack Obama is an american hero. He has already broken down barriers that have existed for decades. I feel safer because someone with intelligence is in charge. We need a brave new america, just not one that bombs everything or anyone we want.
I believe the world is a dangerous place. Much more dangerous since Bush made everyone hate us. Barack Obama is more spiritual than Bush, more moderate than liberal and more conservative than moderate.
I believe he will accomplish great things for the next 8 years.

what is the best site to calculate a handicap for golf in Canada? And has it changed to a different system?
I want to know based on my 40 rounds this season so far, exactly what my handicapp is
The RCGA website can help you, or just google the Golf Association for your province, and they should be able to help you with finding a club/website.
I keep mine at a local course, and just post scores (home and away rounds) on their computer.
