titleist pro v1 golf balls used
What is the difference between Titleist Pro V1 “Practice” golf balls, and the regular Pro V1 ball?

saw some of these that were used for the range at a pga event. its just a normal titleist pro v1 ball, except it says “Practice” on the side of the ball. Is there any difference between these and the normal, regular Pro V1 ball? (same with nike balls, says “practice” on the side, any difference?)

The Titleist Pro V 1 Practice may consist of balls with slight exterior blemishes which do not effect the flight of the ball or overproduction that is used on the driving range at various pro events as a form of advertising the product.

Pro V1 Golf balls Matter?

I just got to know the news regarding Callaway Sue Titty for Pro V1, however i dont quite understand the whole matter, could someone tell me?..

Oh yes, are we still allowed to use Pro V1 balls next year, is it illegal to use them next year?thanks

Titleist has lost a patent ruling and is appealing that loss to Callaway but making plans to issue a new Pro v1 family early in 2009 that does not involve the patents in question. Golfers are not a party to this in any way and will still be able to play the current model or any USGA sanctioned new model. See the paste below from a CBS Sportsline article from last week.

“Thus, Titleist is clearing out current inventory in anticipation of shipping new Pro V1 and Pro V1x balls that steer clear of the contested patents. Golfers are not affected by the litigation as it pertains to playing with Pro V1 balls. All versions of the Pro V1 family conform to the Rules of Golf.”
