thanks!
My guess is that your boyfriend is a natural athlete. If I had to guess, his average score would be right around an 85 with such a swing (trust me that is very good and would beat most people–myself included).
Without seeing more of his game, I can see a couple of mistakes he is making from just one clip.
1) His feet are too narrow at address. He should widen his stance to get better balance
2) He takes the club too far back. I would have him shorten his swing for more accuracy off the tee.
3) His left foot spins out of the shot at impact. Tell him to angle his foot slightly towards the target when he addresses the ball. Golf shoes would help some as well.
4) The lateral hip movement towards the right (his right) as he takes the club back, is taking away a lot of his power and ability to consistently make solid contact with the ball. Focus on keeping the lower body ‘quite’ throughout the swing.
5) It appears that too much weight is on his left side at address. Tell him to put more weight (not all his weight) on the right foot.
What I love about his swing:
1) Love his tempo–he does not swing too hard at the ball (a good tempo is very hard to teach for some reason)
2) I love his finish position
Tell your boyfriend that he has talent for the game. My guess he is relatively new to the game but is already showing some early success. Good luck.
What are some fun on course betting games for golf trips with 8 or more people.?
I organize golf tourneys and run a league, here are a few ideas:
Assuming your group has a wide range of handicaps.
Have Closest to the pin on Par 3’s
Have a closest to the pin (2nd shot) on a couple of Par 4’s
Have a couple of longest putts (made) on different holes
Use a modified stableford system for point scoring – with handicaps – I generally use 80% of each persons handicap to reduce sandbagging
If you have each person put in $20, you can then split it amongst the prizes.
I also put on a alternate shot tourney – you all play the first 18 hole round then after the round you determine partners based on the previous round. You play alternate shot with both balls and write down the score of the lowest ball. This way everyone gets to play a full round of golf. Again, collect X amount of dollars and then pay out the 1st 2 places if you only have 8 people.
Within each 4 some, we play a game called WOLF. You can get information on the web about the game. It is a great game if all 4 players have similar handicaps.
I have 12 players that are playing in foursomes. They are playing 7 courses. Where can i find a schedule to make sure everyone plays with each other (in the same foursome) as evenly as possible?
If you want to play all the courses and shake up the foursomes, I suggest a oun robin format.
I am an ex golf pro and this is how I ran many of the mens golf association tournaments. Goto
http://www.fileedge.com/all/round/ and there is a round robin sheduler there to input names and schedule all 4somes. Good luck and enjoy.
