Are women golf clubs wimpier than mens?

I’m a beginner in golf, and i don’t know which kind to get, mens or womens. Does it really matter? Though I do find more options in golf clubs with mens than womens.

I dont know if my height will have anything to do with it but I’m roughly 5′5.
im a girl.

You haven’t specified gender, which does make some difference. Womens clubs are designed for to suit the slower swing speed and smaller stature of the average female golfer. Typically the shafts are more flexible to maximise clubhead speed, and they are a little shorter, sometimes with smaller clubheads on drivers. For some reason womens clubs sometimes have different colour schemes too. If pastels and pinks arent your thing, you aren’t going to like some of those designs…

It is important to realise that all clubs are to some extent designed around average builds, so whilst not all women are weaker than men, the clubmakers have to assume that is the case to some extent.

Most standard mens clubs are designed around someone of average build around 5′10″ in height. A few inches either way and you can probably use these ‘off the peg’ models without problems. At 5′5 though, you might need to have the clubs adjusted if you plan on playing mens versions.
