What are some fun on course betting games for golf trips with 8 or more people.?
I organize golf tourneys and run a league, here are a few ideas:
Assuming your group has a wide range of handicaps.
Have Closest to the pin on Par 3’s
Have a closest to the pin (2nd shot) on a couple of Par 4’s
Have a couple of longest putts (made) on different holes
Use a modified stableford system for point scoring – with handicaps – I generally use 80% of each persons handicap to reduce sandbagging
If you have each person put in $20, you can then split it amongst the prizes.
I also put on a alternate shot tourney – you all play the first 18 hole round then after the round you determine partners based on the previous round. You play alternate shot with both balls and write down the score of the lowest ball. This way everyone gets to play a full round of golf. Again, collect X amount of dollars and then pay out the 1st 2 places if you only have 8 people.
Within each 4 some, we play a game called WOLF. You can get information on the web about the game. It is a great game if all 4 players have similar handicaps.
I have 12 players that are playing in foursomes. They are playing 7 courses. Where can i find a schedule to make sure everyone plays with each other (in the same foursome) as evenly as possible?
If you want to play all the courses and shake up the foursomes, I suggest a oun robin format.
I am an ex golf pro and this is how I ran many of the mens golf association tournaments. Goto
http://www.fileedge.com/all/round/ and there is a round robin sheduler there to input names and schedule all 4somes. Good luck and enjoy.

PS2 or XBox…Which should I get? I don’t want it for ONLINE Gaming?
Which console should I get and what are your reasons for the decision? I will NOT be doing any online gaming. The games that I will be playing are mostly sports, if it matters. Golf, Baseball etc. Is their any real difference in the systems? Has time shown that one holds up better than the other……etc. I may use it as my primary DVD player in one room though……Feel free to contact me outside of this forum at jjck2727@yahoo.com Thanks for the help in advance, I hope theirs a concensis
The graphics are better on xbox however, the ps2 has a lot more games, they are a little cheaper usually and you can use it as a dvd player. The ps3 is still really expensive and it doesn’t play music or dvd’s. The graphics are incredible but if you primarily want sports, ps2 is the ticket. The Wii is good too. The graphics are not great but you actually get up and move with the Wii.
I am going to be selling my golf clubs to my friend, but I dont know the price I should ask. I was hoping you would help give me an idea. The clubs are pretty new; and they are in vey very good condition. They are as follows:
Callaway X-12 irons 4-PW
Taylor Made Rescue Mid 19 degree 3 iron/hybrid
TaylorMade R580 XD 10.5 degree driver
Nike Sasquatch 15 degree 3 wood
Taylor Made R580 5 wood
Ping Zing orange dot SW Sand Wedge
Cobra “The Cute Kid” putter by putter designer Bobby Grace

Go to Ebay. All of those clubs are on sale. There is usually a opening bid but in many cases there is a number offerred to close out the bidding. In many cases they have pictures to show the “used” quality of the clubs.
My opinion: you have some very good name brand clubs.
